Romack Financial has partnered with a Jacksonville, FL healthcare provider that is looking to add a detail oriented Senior Staff Accountant, who will eventually become the Controller. This role assists the Controller in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company’s books and records. Under the Controller’s supervision, the role also performs cost allocation analyses and records related journal entries in NetSuite, the company’s accounting software.
Ideally, you possess:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
4 years of relevant experience as a hands-on accountant is required
Medical practice accounting experience
NetSuite accounting software experience
3rd Party Payroll processing knowledge and experience
Team player who works well with others and can work independently with little supervision
Proven strong customer service and relationship building skills
Detail-oriented with exceptional organization and mathematical skills
Trustworthy, conscientious, and keeps strict confidentiality
Strong and effective written/oral communication skills
Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
Experience in Microsoft Word and Outlook
What you will be doing:
Record monthly recurring journal entries
Review accounting classifications for completeness and accuracy
Create multiple cost allocation analyses by physician/location/modality detail including, but not limited to (Revenue, Payroll expense, Benefits expense, and Worker’s compensation)
Timely reconcile identified balance sheet accounts as directed including, but not limited to, bank accounts and recording adjusting items as needed in the check register
Review bi-weekly payroll reports and prepare journal entry to record the payroll expense
Maintain monthly and annual accruals for paid time off and the extended illness bank
Create and maintain physician worker’s compensation exemptions
Prepare the annual worker’s compensation audit
Prepare and process for payment the monthly worker’s compensation invoice
Assist practice managers as needed with accounting-process related questions
Assist in the annual budget process and monthly variance analysis
Support the Controller as needed in the monthly close process and serve as a back-up in his/her absence
Serve as a back-up to the Accounts Payable process
Serve as a back-up to the Payroll process
Create periodic sales tax returns as required to self-assess sales tax as needed
Produce monthly financial reports and assist in their review for accuracy and completeness
Produce ad-hoc accounting reports as directed
Candidates must be willing to work onsite in central Jacksonville, Florida. The position is hybrid home/office, and does require vaccination or appropriate exemption.
