Deliver IT projects both software development and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Understands customer’s success criteria for each project. 
  • Negotiates with resource managers and internal stakeholders to gain commitment to project objectives. 
  • Leads the efforts of the project team in the core functions of project management to include: 
  • Developing project schedules that specify milestones, tasks, start/end durations 
  • Managing project budgets, risks, scope, and change requests 
  • Directing and coordinating vendors 
  • Reporting project status 
  • Managing and archiving project artifacts 
  • Assumes ownership and accountability for the results of the team. 
  • Identifies stakeholder information needs and delivers timely and accurate updates. 
  • Directs and schedules application/solution testing. 
  • Ensures customer satisfaction and acceptance final product. 
  •  Leverages accrued goodwill and experience to enhance relationships between the PMO and its customers. 
  • 5+ years’ Project Management experience in software development 
  • Exceptional presentation skills, to include presenting to executives and sponsors 
  • Thrives in a matrixed organization 
  • Experience with Agile project delivery 
  • Experience with automated testing solutions and approaches 
  • Proficiency with MS office suite, including Microsoft Project 
  • Skilled at developing project budgets and resource hours tracking 
  • Written and verbal communication skills 
  • Possesses an agreeable “team first” attitude 
  • Preferred Competencies/Experience: 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 
  • Agile/Scrum certification(s) 
  • 5+ years’ Project Management experience in IT infrastructure 
  • 2+ years’ experience is in a small to mid-size corporate PMO environment 
  • 2+ years’ experience in directing project execution for highly critical systems 
  • 2+ years’ experience in the Texas deregulated energy market or electric utility business
