What is the Situation: 
The Senior End User Engineer is responsible for application packaging, deployments, documentation, and release control in an Enterprise environment. They will also be responsible for image development and endpoint configuration. The Senior End User Engineer will be measured on efficient package design and turnaround time, package saturation in the enterprise, identifying desktop patterns and implementing strategic solutions to address evolving business needs. This individual will ensure activities are executed in an efficient manner with the objective of increasing customer satisfaction and providing a stable, consistent work environment while supporting growth through service excellence. Serves as a role model, resource, and leader for other End User Engineers.
Day to Day: 
  • Provides an effective and efficient geographically disperse end-user computing environment which meets users’ needs and expectations including stability, maintainability, performance, and recoverability.
  • Deploys and maintains an enterprise workstation and software management framework and associated systems.
  • Designs, tests and maintains company-wide standard desktop/laptop images, along with creation and maintenance of all associated documentation.
  • Implements and documents complex operating system upgrades and patches to be deployed into the organization.
  • Creates, tests, documents and maintains unassisted installs of software updates and new installs, as well as custom desktop configurations.
  • Interfaces with and supports different areas of Information Services (Systems, Network, and IS Application Support) during implementation, documentation, and support.
  • Leads various projects related to evaluating, testing, and deployment of new technology and innovation solutions.
  • Leads innovation efforts to introduce transformational products, services and processes to the customer base.
  • Develops and implement innovative initiatives aimed at improving the customer experience.
  • Meets with representatives from user departments to identify needs and assist in the coordination of Information Services with these projects.
  • Designs and architects new enterprise desktop solutions.
  • Develops Project Plans and identify key deliverables, milestones and resource requirements, identify sources of funding and manage expense tracking.
Most Critical Skills: (Submit resources with the following 3 core skills)
  1. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible directly related work experience.
  2. Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Desktop Engineering professional
  3. Minimum 3 years’ experience with imaging tools and software packaging technologies
Subset Skills:
  1. Knowledge of imaging (SCCM/MDT), patch management, endpoint protection (Anti-Malware & Encryption), scripting/automation, and software packaging technologies and processes.
  2. Knowledge and understanding of Desktop operating systems methodologies (file system, registry, services, etc.), as well as system tools and remote desktop support.
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, software packages and products.
  4. Knowledge of SCCM, SCSM and MDOP products.
  5. Knowledge of Citrix, VMWare, App-V and other virtualization platforms.
  6. Ability to troubleshoot Tier 3 support and root cause analysis of the Desktop environment.
  7. Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Server products.
