Summary of Responsibilities: 
Support the integration of SQL Server Database User Authentication with Active Directory in SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2008 databases using Active Directory and Oracle Identity Access Management Suite. Candidate will participate in defining authorization groups, mapping database authorization groups to Active Directory roles, implementing Active Directory / LDAP authentication mechanisms in SQL Server databases, and assisting users with the conversion process. 

Essential Job Functions: 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively using written and verbal communication methods. 
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with personnel in other IT and Business groups. 
  • Assist with implementation of Oracle Identity Management Suite for Active Directory based SQL Server database account management. 
  • Implement Active Directory Authentication for SQL Server database accounts. 
  • Map SQL Server roles to Active Directory groups based on organizational workgroups and Active Directory models. 
  • Convert database user accounts to Active Directory managed authentication. 
  • Assist users as needed to implement AD authenticated database accounts. 
  • Coordinate changes with other members of the DBA team. 
  • Deploy schema changes and application updates. 
  • Install and maintain database products including patching and upgrading of environments. 
  • Create/maintain DBA Powershell and T-SQL scripts. 
  • Coordinate with software vendor technical support. 
  • Coordinate and implement changes to development, test, and production environments. 
Experience and Educational Requirements: 
  • B.S. in Management Information Systems or Computer Science (4 year degree). An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered. 
  • 5+ years (in excess of degree requirements stated above) of progressively responsible information technology work experience with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment. 
  • 5+ years SQL Server database management experience. 
  • 5+ years SQL Server database security and user management. 
  • 3+ years in SQL Server Mirroring or Always-On groups. 
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle Identity Management, LDAP, or Active Directory authentication of SQL Server database accounts. 
  • 2+ years direct, hands-on experience with T-SQL and Powershell. 
  • Familiarity with NERC CIP, SSAE16, and/or SOC compliance standards is a plus.
